Welcome to the Friends of Black Rock House website
The Friends of Black Rock House invite you to visit Black Rock House in Melbourne’s Bayside suburb of the same name. You may also like to become a member to support this heritage-listed treasure, built by Victoria’s first Auditor-General Charles Ebden from 1856-58. It is well worth the visit to this intriguing historic Victorian era home to see the castle-style fortress wall, sand and paint finish, French reproduction wallpapers (from the originals), shady Moreton Bay Fig garden, and antique furniture and costumes presented to reflect the story of the House.
